Hi Stampers, Here we go with another Happy Stampers Blog Hop. This week we had a color challenge. It was inspired by the colors is the new holiday catalog and the Petal and Paisley Designer Series Paper. Now my question? What do you do when you did not order the suite of products and need to use the colors in the challenge? The colors are Mint Macaroon, Rich Razzleberry and Delightful Dijon? I put on my thinking cap and went to work.
Here is the color challenge:
Stampin Up Wondrous Wreath:
Here is the recipe:
Card Base: Whisper White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
Mat: Rich Razzleberry 4 x 5-1/4
Embossed Piece: Whisper White 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Embossed with the Cable Knit Embossing Folder
The Details:
The Embossed Piece: I put the piece of Whisper White card stock through the Cable Knit Embossing Folder to give it that warm textured look for the backdrop for the wreath.
The Wreath: The wreath was stamped with the Wondrous Wreath stamp set using a fun technique with baby wipes. Layer about 5 folded baby wipes on a paper plate. Take your reinkers of Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaroon and Delightful Dijon. Put droplets of the ink in a random pattern onto the baby wipe letting the colors touch and spread out a bit. I then used this as a stamp pad and inked my wreath. After I had my image I used the coordinating die to cut it out. This technique gave me a variegated fun look and blended the colors beautifully.
Flowers: I used the tiny die in the Botanical Builders set and cut out Delightful Dijon and Rich Razzleberry flowers and adhered them to the wreath with some tiny pearls added to the center of the flowers.
More Details:
Metallic Thread: Before adhering the bow I added some copper metallic thread to the wreath.
Ribbon: The striped Delightful Dijon ribbon made a fun bow to add to the design.
The Tag: I cut a tiny tag out of Whisper White card stock and added a Rich Razzleberry sentiment from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.
Mini Pine Cones: The final detail were the darling NEW mini pine cones from the Holiday Catalog.
