Stampin’ Up! Leaves of Holly card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hi stampers and card makers, today for our hop we have a sketch challenge.   The Leaves of Holly bundle worked beautifully with the sketch right down to the die from the Holly Berry Dies.  Add the gorgeous Boughs of Holly DSP and there you have it, a wonderful Christmas card.  After you visit my blog, please stop by our other creative team members blogs and see what they created with our sketch for today.  Happy Stamping!

The sketch:

Stampin’ Up! Leaves of Holly:

The recipe:

Card base: Real Red 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4

Mat: Basic White 5-1/4 x 4

DSP panel: Boughs of Holly 5-1/8 x 3-7/8

The details:

  • Die cut the following pieces from the Holly Berry Dies as follows
  • 2-Leaf and sentiment piece: Basic White,  (Glue them together with the leaves opposite each other so you have leaves on both top and bottom)
  • Extra leaf (small size detail leaf): Basic White
  • Sprigs: Gold Glimmer paper, Old Olive and Shaded Spruce
  • Fussy cut the poinsettias from the Boughs of Holly DSP

The Sentiment:

  • Stamp the sentiment from the Leaves of Holly stamp set onto Basic White card stock with Veramark ink
  • Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder onto the sentiment and then heat emboss the sentiment
  • Die cut the sentiment using the die from the Stylish Shape die set

 Putting the card together:

  • Adhere the DSP panel to the White mat
  • Attach this to the front of the card with Dimensionals
  • Adhere the leaf and sentiment stacked piece to the front of the card with Dimensionals
  • Adhere the sentiment to the middle of the die cut piece with Liquid Glue
  • Attach the fussy cut poinsettias with a Dimensional (only in the center to be able to tuck the greenery underneath)
  • Tuck in a glue an extra white leaf to the top poinsettia
  • Tuck in and glue all the greenery sprigs and the gold spring underneath the poinsettia clusters

Finishing touches:

  • Adhere a Real Red bow from the Real Red and Garden Green combo pack to the left side if the top poinsettia with a Glue Dot
  • Add a few Real Red Rhinestones here and there to the front of the card and you are done
