Stampin Up “Kinda Eclectic” Happy Stamper Blog Hop

Hi Stampers,  Welcome to my blog and another Happy Stampers Blog Hop! Each week our talented team share cards based on either a color or sketch challenge.  Today we had a color challenge and boy was it a CHALLENGE!  I had not received my new order from the 2016-1017 catalog and had a hard time deciding what existing stamp set to use.  Then there was the color challenge…Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride and Emerald Envy.  This one really stumped me!  How about you, what card would you create using this combination of colors?

Here is the color challenge:

Stampin Up “Kinda Eclectic”

Here is the card recipe:

Card Base:  Sweet Sugarplum 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at

Mat: Blushing Bride 4 x 5-1/4

Mat: Basic Black 3-7/8 x 5-1/8

Art Piece: Whisper White 3-3/4 x 5

Inks: Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum, Blushing Bride and Black

Stamp Sets:  Kinda Eclectic, Timeless Textures and One Big Meaning

I stamped the leaves in Emerald Envy using the stamping off technique to get variations in my leaf colors.  The polka dots are done in Blushing Bride with a stamp from Kinda Eclectic.  Sweet Sugarplum was used along with the grid stamp from Timeless Textures to add more depth.  The splatter stamp from Timeless Textures was stamped in black ink for the final background for the card. After all the stamping was done I put my mat and art piece layers onto my card base.

The Details:

The Sentiment:

Art Piece:Whisper White 3/4 x 3-1/4 punched with the Triple Banner punch

Mat: Sweet Sugarplum 7/8 x 3-3/8 also punched with the Triple Banner punch.

After I made the sentiment I adhered it with dimensionals to add  pop to the card.

The Butterflies:

Stamped in Sweet Sugarplum and punched with the coordination Elegant Butterfly Punch.

The bow:  Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon adhered with a glue dot

The bling:

I love little details so I just had to use my NEW Enamel shapes along with the pearls.  I added some enamel shapes and pearls in clusters around my card for the finishing detail.

    • kristi says:

Thanks Jennifer. I like detail, and that Timeless Texture stamp set is my favorite for that.

  3. lori says:

Really pretty card. I could see this being made with lots of other color combinations, too. Good one to save as a pattern!

  4. kristi says:

Thanks Lori, I like that fact that you take a classic design and just change up the colors and then you have a whole new look. Let me know if you try another combination.
