Hi Stampers, Welcome to another Thursday blog hop. (my favorite day of the week!) I am so happy you have stopped by my blog today. I am using the Stampin Up Swirly Bird stamp set again this week. I am anxiously awaiting my BIG order from the new catalog. (Squeal ) So while I wait I have decided to use the Swirly Bird set again this week. Enjoy.
Here is the sketch:
Stampin Up In-colors Swirly Bird:
Here is the recipe:
Card Base: Whisper White Heavy card stock 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
Mat: Flirty Flamingo 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
Large Art Piece Mat: Whisper White 4 x 5/1/4 Stamped in Tip Top Taupe ink. The top half was stamped from the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the bottom half was stamped using the Swirly Bird stamp set. A Flirty Flamingo ruched ribbon was wrapped around the card in the middle. It was adhered to the large mat and glued to the card base.
Small Mat: 3-1/4 x 4-3/4
Art Piece: Whisper White 3-1/8 x 4-3/8
The Details:
The Art Piece:
Stamp set: Swirly Bird stamp set and matching dies
Inks: Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive and Tip Top Taupe
I started by stamping my image in Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach inks. To get more variation in color and stamped off the large flowers behind the swirls to make that second stamping pop a bit more. I used old olive for the leaves and veins. After all the stamping was done I stamped some additional flowers and leaves then I used my big shot to cut them out.
The Splatters: Tip Top Taupe ink was used along the the Swirly Bird stamp set to add the splatters to the card.
The Bird nest: Flirty Flamingo card stock
The sentiment: whisper white cardstock 1/2 x 3-1/2 cut with the triple banner punch and inked in peekaboo peach ink.
More Details:
After the art piece was stamped I added the Flirty Flamingo mat and adhered it with dimensionals. A ruched Flirty Flamingo bow was added with a glue dot. I had to add some sparkle…LOL, hey you know me. My card would not be complete without some bling. I added some gold sequins and tiny pearls for the finishing touches.
The Inside:
I added some small flirty flamingo and peekaboo peach flowers to the inside of the card along with some tip top taupe splatters. A few old olive leaves completes the card.
