Hi Stampers, It is time for another Happy Stampers Blog Hop. Today we had a sketch challenge. I used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set “Flowering Fields” It is my favorite in this catalog. Enjoy my share today and then visit the rest of the team and see what they created with the same sketch.
Here is the sketch:
“Flowering Fields”
Here is the card recipe:
Card base: Blackberry Bliss cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, and scored at each end at 2-1/8 to form two front fold flaps
Mats: Whisper White 2 x 5-3/8
Mat: Wildflower Fields DSP 1-7/8 x5-1/4
Inside Mat: 5-1/4 by 4
Oval Mat: cut with oval framelits with Wildflower Fields DSP
Art Piece: cut with oval framelits, Whisper White
Sentiment: Whisper White 1/2 x 3-3/4
The Details:
The art piece was stamped using the Flowering Fields Stamp set with Staz on Black ink. The flowers were colored using the blender pen and Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Old Olive Inks. After the art piece was colored in I added some background noise by using the Timeless Textures Stamp set in Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey ink. I then ran the art piece through the big shot using the Gently Falling Embossing Folder. A few Blackberry Bliss flowers were punched out with the itty bitty accent punch. A bow, the sentiment and of course some bling of sequins and rhinestones were added to complete the card.
The Inside:
Because this is such a fun folded card I wanted the inside to be just as special as the outside. Using some texture from the Timeless Texture stamp set added interest to the inside of the card. The inks were Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey. The butterfly was from the Flowering Fields Stamp set and was colored with my blender pen. The butterfly was also touched with some clear wink of stella, though I don’t think the camera picked up on the sparkle.
Here is a different version:
With this card, I changed the pattern of the stamps and used a blackberry bliss bow instead of the white bow, small changes but fun to see how they make the card look a bit different. Enjoy.
