Hi Stampers, Today we have a color challenge. The colors that we are all working with today are Dapper Denim, Calypso Coral and Mint Macaroon. Now the Designer Series Paper that fits this color scheme is the “By the Shore” paper pack. I know I have shown you several cards using this suite but hey…I love this set and could not resist using it one more time.
Here is the color challenge:
Stampin Up “By the Shore” and “Seaside Shore”:
Here is the card recipe:
Card base: Dapper Denim 4-1/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2
Mat: Very Vanilla 4 x 5-1/4 embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder
Banners: Seaside Shore DSP Cut two at 1-1/2 x 4-3/4 and one at 1-1/2 x 3-3/4
Mat for the art piece: Dapper Denim cut with the Tags and Labels Framelits
Art Piece: Very Vanilla cut with the Tags and Labels Framelits
The Details:
I used the Seaside Shore stamp set along with Dapper Denim, Mint Macaroon and Calypso Coral inks.
The Art Piece:
Seaweed: Mint Macaroon and this striped with color using the Mint Macaroon Stampin Marker
Bubbles: Stamped off Dapper Denim.
Fish: one is Dapper Denim and one in Calypso Coral, both fussy cut and adhered with a dimensional. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the fish for added sparkle.
Tag: Calypso Coral ink and then fussy cut and adhered with a glue dot.
Ribbon: Dapper Denim Ruched ribbon
Bling: A few pearls for added bubbles
The Inside:
While you have all your inks out don’t forget to add a surprise to the inside and your envelope. All the colors and stamps were the same as the art piece on the front of the card.
Did you notice?
I am not sure if you noticed but the full card in picture one is slightly different that the close up picture. Can you tell the difference. After my blog was completed and I sat and looked at my card I was want not 100% happy, something was off. Then it hit me…the ribbon was supposed to be behind the art piece, not in front of the art piece. I retook the photo of the full image card and thought, good, I fixed it. I then looked at my blog and realized I did not re shoot the close up. Time limitations prevented be from re shooting and having my blog ready to link with my team so I just left it as is. I am sorry that I overlooked this detail. I am curious…which card to you like best? The ribbon in front or behind the art piece?

That’s awesome Kristi! Fantastic layering and cute little fish too. Beautiful card! 🙂
ah Kristi it’s beautiful and I like the ribbon both ways. Those little fish are totally adorable.
I love this stamp set anyway, and you really made a beautiful card with it, Kristi! Great job! 🙂
So cute!! Love both cards you did…the ribbon works in both. Nice design and the inside is so darling.
I LIKE THE ONE WITH THE RIBBON BEHIND. my ONLY COMPLAINT ( IT’S not my place to say anything, because I’m terrible at making cards, but I keep trying!). is that I’d lower your sentiment. I really do like your card. It’s bright nd cheerful!
