Stampin Up “Butterfly Basic” in Pink

Hi Stampers, Last week during the Happy Stampers Blog Hop the card I shared was done with the Butterfly Basics stamp set and matching framlits.  The colors that were chosen were Tangelo Twist and Black.  I love the intense contrast between the two colors and thought…I wonder what it would look like in a more subtle shade?  Below is the same card as last week using softer colors.  Which card to you like best?    Leave a comment and let me know.

The Background:

The fern was inked in old olive and stamped several times using the stamping off technique.  That is where you ink up the stamp and stamp your image once and then stamp it again before re-inking it up.  This gives you a two tone effect that adds more dimension to the background.

The splatters were inked in daffodil delight using Timeless Textures.  Daffodil delight was also used for the postage stamp image also.

The flowers were inked in Staz on Black ink as the first step.  With my blender pen I colored in the flowers using Pink Pirouette ink, repeating the process to deepen the centers of the flowers to give them some shading.  The centers were colored in with my blender pen and daffodil delight ink.

The leaves were also colored in using mossy meadow ink and the blender pen.

The Butterflies:

Large Butterfly: Basic Black cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits

Small Butterfly:  Pink Pirouette cut out with the Butterfly Thinlit.  Wink of Stella was using to put on some sparkle.

Finishing touches:  I added a pink pirouette seam binding ribbon on the sentiment. For the finishing touches some rhinestones and sequins were added for the sparkle and glitz.
