Hi Stampers, another Thursday, another share and another blog hop you for. Today we had a sketch challenge and I must admit when I first saw the sketch I thought, “oh my, what am I going to do with this one?” Well at first it was going to be balloons in place of the circles and then an idea came to me, sponged circles made with a stencil. I was so excited at how the card came out, I hope you like it.
Here is the sketch:
Stampin Up Botanical Blooms and Circles:
I turned the sketch from horizontal to vertical, but this card could go either way. Maybe I will try that and see what happens.
Here is the card recipe:
Inks used: Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight
Card base: Heavy Whisper White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
Mat: Wild Wasabi 4 x 5-1/4
Mat: Flirty Flamingo 3-7/8 x 5-1/8
Art Piece: Whisper White 3-3/4 x 5
The Details:
The circles:
I started off by making some stencils with my Circle Framelits, I used the 3 small ones in the pack. I then placed the first stencil on my art piece and with my sponge dauber inked the circle. I repeated this process for all of the circles, even over lapping some for interest. After the circles were stenciled I used memento black ink and put the sentiment on the card. I thought a big bold statement was necessary for this design.
The flowers:
Using the Botanical Builder Framlits I cut out several flowers and leaves. The large flowers are Flirty Flamingo sponged with Flirty Flamingo ink. The small flowers were cut from Daffodil Delight card stock. I added a thick Whisper White Bakers Twine bow for more detail.
The leaves:
Again, using the Botanical Builder Framelits I cut out some Wild Wasabi leaves and stamped them with the coordinating stamp in Wild Wasabi ink.
The Bling:
A card would not be a “Kristi” card without some bling
The Bling:
I added a few Flirty Flamingo round enamel shapes along with some basic pearls to the card. Oh, and don’t forget the pearls in the center of the flowers for the final detail.
