Hi Stampers, Today for our Happy Stampers Blog Hop I decided to use an old favorite, the Bird Builder Punch. There are so many NEW wonderful products that Stampin Up sells each season but sometimes I need to dust off a few of the forgotten punches and stamp sets and play with them again. Today it was the Bird Builder Punch.
Today was a sketch challenge:
Here is the sketch. The bird was added to the right side of the oval instead of the left. Enjoy my share today and then hop on over to the rest of the team and see what they created for you.
Bird Builder Punch meets up with Botanical Blooms Designer Series Paper:
Here is the card recipe:
Card base: Whisper White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
Mat: Whisper White 3-1/2 x 5-1/4, Embossed with the Wood grain embossing folder
Oval: Basic black cut with the oval framelits
Art piece: Whisper White cut with the next size down oval framelit
Strip of DSP: Botanical Gardens 4 x 5-1/4
The Details:
The art piece:
Leaves: Using the Kinda Eclectic stamp set I stamped the leave in old olive ink. Some of the leaves are lighter, using the stamping off technique to get variation in color
Bird: I punched the bird using the Bird Builder punch in Mint Macaroon card stock. After it was punched, the edges were sponged with Mint Macaroon ink using my sponge dauber. His wing was attached with a dimensional and the bird was also attached with a dimensional. A pearl for the eye completes the bird
Flowers: The flowers were inked in Cajun Craze and Hello Honey ink using the Petite Petals stamp set and coordination punch. A white bakers twine bow was added to the bottom of the flower cluster.
Leaves for the flower: The leave are the same stamp as the flower using Old Olive ink. I offset the leaves under the flower so they just peek out from underneath. Rhinestones finish off the little flowers.
Embellishments: I completed the card by adhering some” Its My Party Enamel Dots” in Mint Macaroon. (you can find these on page 6 of the occasions catalog)
More Details:
The bottom of the card has two more flowers competed just like the ones under the bird. Adding some bling finishes the card perfectly.
