Hi Stampers, Happy Thursday and welcome to another Happy Stampers Blog Hop! Today we had a color challenge, and what a challenge it was! This one really stumped me and and it took me three days of fiddling to get my card design and colors just right. Our colors were Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand and Mint Macaroon. All beautiful colors, just hard for me to put all together, guess that is why we call it a “challenge”
Here is the color challenge:
Stampin Up Balloon Celebration:
Here is the card recipe:
Card base: Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2 Inked with Timely Textures stamp set in stamped off Mint Macaroon. Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in stamped off Sahara Sand.
Mat: Crushed Curry: 4-1/4 x 3-1/2
Art piece: Whisper White embossed with the Honeycomb EF 4-1/4 x 3-3/8
Banner: 2 x 5-1/2 Birthday Bouquet DSP punched with the Triple Banner Punch.
The Details:
The Balloons:
The balloons were stamped with the Balloon Celebration stamp set. There were inked with Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand and the one farthest back is inked in Mint Macaroon with the stamping off technique. ( ink up the stamp and stamp the first image on scrap paper and then ink your balloon) The stamping off technique gives your image a light shade of the ink. I did this so it would stand out against the mint macaroon banner of the same color. After the balloons were inked I went back and inked the shadows with Sahara Sand. They were then punched out with the coordinating Balloon Celebration punch and adhered with dimensionals. A Sahara Sand and Black ink string were inked to make a cluster. White linen thread and a touch of Wink of Stella finished off the balloons.

The Sentiment:
The Sentiment was inked in Memento black ink using the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and matching die. It was adhered with dimensionals for added pop.
The Tiny flowers:
I added three small flowers from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, two in crushed curry and one in mint macaroon to the card with a glue dot. I then tucked some of the ” It”s My Party” enamel dots here and there for the detail that I like. Oh and don’t forget that rhinestone or two also, my cards would not be complete without a touch of bling.
