Stampin Up Reason For The Season Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, It is official, December is upon us and the Christmas season has begun.  Our house is decorated and the lights are up.  I guess now I can get my first peppermint mocha at my favorite coffee shop!  And of course, keep making Christmas cards too.  Today we had a color challenge and a challenge it was.  What colors do you like to make when creating your Christmas cards?

Here is the color challenge:

The colors we are working with today are Soft Sky, Sweet Sugar Plum and Whisper White.

Here is the card recipe:

Card Base: Whisper White  5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4

Mat: Sweet Sugarplum: 5-1/4 x 4

Mat: Soft Sky 5 x 3-7/8

Art Piece: Whisper White 4-7/8 x 3-5/8 Stamp the sentiment first and then emboss with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder

The Ribbon:  Wrap a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon around the two mats and art piece and tie a bow then adhere to your card base.

Metallic Thread:  Before I adhered  the flower I put loops of gold Metallic Thread on top of the Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon

The Flower:  Using a piece of vellum, I stamped the vein image from the Reason for the Season stamp set with versa mark ink and heat embossed the image with white embossing powder.  After they were embossed I used the coordinating punch to punch out the petals.  Glue dots adhered the flower to the front of the card.  The tiny centers are Sweet Sugarplum and Black card stock again using the punch.  A  large pearl finished the flower.

After the card was put together Gold Sequins, Soft Sky Enamel Shapes and Pearls were added for the final touch.

  1. Such a beauty! I love your flower and the loops of thread really stand out. I need some lessons on getting my loops to look as wonderful as yours do! Beautiful accents, too!

  2. So pretty, Kristi! You did a great job with these colors. And like Jari said – I need looping lessons! Perfect! 🙂
