Hi Stampers: Well today we have a color challenge of Dapper Denim, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Gray. These colors work beautifully with the Myths and Magic Designer Series Paper. I inked up the Magical Days stamp set and had a blast making this spin and twist card. I watched dozens of videos on how to make this fun fold card. I know there will be one more spin and twist card this coming Monday on my blog so watch for another fun card.
Here is the color challenge:

Please watch the video from Cathy Williams at “Inking It Up with Cathy” to view the video on how to construct the card. Thank you Cathy for providing me with such a great learning video on how to make this spin and twist card. Below are the direction for coloring in all the art pieces
- Attach your DSP mat to the Lemon Lime Twist mat and then attach to the front of your card
- Attach your banner to the front of the card
The Front Art piece:
- Stamp the Wizard in Tuxedo Black ink onto the Whisper White Stitched Framelit circle
- Color in the hat and gown with your Lemon Lime Twist Marker
- Color in the beard with your Gray Watercolor Pencil and blend with the Blender Pen. Shade the beard with your Black Watercolor Pencil and blend again with the Blender Pen
- Add Dapper Denim stars above his hand and once on the front of his gown
- Punch a 3/8 inch circle using the Silver Glimmer Paper and adhere to the art piece with a glue dot
- Adhere the art piece to the Dapper Denim mat then attach to the front of the card with dimensionals
- Tie a Dapper Denim strip ribbon knot to the art piece
The Inside:
The Inside Dragon:
- Color the Dragon Body with your Lemon Lime marker
- Color the tummy and haunch with your Blender Pen and Lemon Lime Twist Ink pad (this gives a light look to add dimension to the dragon body)
- Color the spikes in Dapper Denim marker
- His wings are colored in both Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim Stampin Markers
- The flame is colored in Rich Razzleberry ink and the Blender Pen
- Add Dapper Denim ink stars
- To finish off the dragon I colored over the tummy and haunch with my Wink of Stella for added bling
The Knight:
- Color in the knight with both Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim Stampin Markers
- Color in the helmet with your Gray Watercolor pencil and blend with the blender pen. Shade with the Black Watercolor Pencil and blend again with your Blender Pen
- Stamp the knight image on some Silver Foil Paper and cut out the front of this garment and the sword, then paper piece it onto the front of the knight
- His boots are the Gray Watercolor Pencil shaded with the Black Watercolor Pencil and blended with the Blender Pen
- His face was a light wash of Calypso Coral Watercolor pencel
- Add some Dapper Denim start in the background
The Sentiment:
- Using the ink to rubber technique color the sentiment with your Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim Stampin Marker
- Add some Dapper Denim stars to the background
The Wizard:
- Color in the hat and gown with your Lemon Lime Twist Marker
- Color in the beard with your Gray Watercolor Pencil and blend with the Blender Pen. Shade the beard with your Black Watercolor Pencil and blend again with the Blender Pen
- Add Dapper Denim stars above his hand and once on the front of his gown
- Punch a 3/8 inch circle using the Silver Glimmer Paper and adhere to the art piece with a glue dot
More Details:
- The inside sentiment is using the ink to rubber technique coloring with the Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim Stampin Markers
