Stampin Up “Lemon Zest” Happy Inkin Thursday Blog Hop

Hi Stampers, today I am sharing a card made with one of the product bundles from the new catalog.  My order arrived and then we went out of town and I had to wait a whole week to play with my new stuff!  I am in love with the Lemon Zest stamp set and punch.  I am a punch gal verses a die cut gal so when Stampin’ Up! come out with a punch I am all over it.  Today was a sketch challenge and this set fit perfectly with my design ideas.

Can you believe that I didn’t change the sketch this week?  That must be first! LOL

Stampin’ Up! Lemon Zest:

Card base: Lemon Lime Twist 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Mat: Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4 (this will make our background paper)

Banner: Easter Palace DSP 2-5/8 x 4-3/4 (cut a tale on the end with your snips)

Top banner: Whisper White embossed with the new Layered Leaves EF ( cut a tail with your snips)

Sentiment: Whisper White 5/8 x 3-1/2 punched with the Triple Banner Punch

The Details:

I made the background paper using the slice stamp from the Lemon Zest stamp set

  • Ink up your slice with Daffodil Delight ink and with a sponge dauber ink the edges in Lemon Lime Twist
  • Stamp this on your Whisper White mat until the paper has several slices inked (I washed my stamp in between each image)
  • Wrap a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon around the art piece and adhere this to the card base with Fast Fuse
  • Mount your embossed banner to the DSP banner and adhere to the front of the card with dimensionals

More Details:

  • Using Whisper White card stock, ink up your lemon stamp with Daffodil Delight ink and with your sponge dauber ink one side of the lemon with Lemon Lime Twist Ink. Then stamp your image
  • Punch your lemons out with the matching lemon punch
  • Ink your leaves with Lemon Lime Twist Ink using the stamp off technique to lighten the image.  Before you stamp the second time,  dab the top part of the leaf with a sponge dauber in more Lemon Lime Twist ink.  This give the leaf more dimension and shading
  • Punch the leaves with the matching punch
  • Adhere the bottom lemon with glue dots and adhere the top lemon with dimensionals onto your banner
  • Add your leaves with glue dots
  • Make a bow with the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and attach with a glue dot to the left of the lemons and on top of the wrapped ribbon

The Finishing Touches:

  • Stamp your sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink and adhere to the skinny banner
  • Add some Daffodil Delight Enamel shapes and a few rhinestones and pearls to complete the card

The Inside:

I stamped the lemon slices on the inside just like I did on the background paper on the front of the card

The Envelope:

I stamped the lemon just like I did on the ones I punched out on the front of the card.  It adds so much to decorate the envelope, I think this is my favorite part!
