Hi Stampers, today I am participating in my second Happy Stampers Blog Hop. This is when a group of us from Happy Stampers share our projects with you all at the same time. Visit my site and then hop over to the other sites by using the navigation arrows. This will guide you to each set of projects. Have fun and please leave comments as we have some fun blog candy waiting to be won. Happy Stamping.Stampin Stamping The theme for this blog hop is “Birthday Cards” Today I made my card using a black and white theme with just a touch a pink. I think the classic color combo suits most birthday occasions and was so fun to create. I also added a darling mini coffee cup to coordinate with my card. Add some sweets to the coffee cup and your gift is complete.
Stampin Up Tea Party Birthday Card and Coffee Cup
For my birthday card I used so many fun products, some good old time favorites and a few products from the new spring catalog.
Here is my card recipe:
Card Base: Basic Black 4-1/4 by 11, scored at 5-1/2
Mat:Whisper White 4 by 5-1/4
Mat: Rose Red 3-7/8 by 5-1/8 Stamped
Mat: Whisper White, Memento black ink with Something Lacy Stamp 3-3/4 by 5
Art Piece: Tea Party Stamp cut with oval Framelits
Oval Mats: Rose Red and Pink Pirouette cut with the oval framelits.
Embellishments: Pink Pirouette flowers, sponged with rose red. Old Olive leaves punched with the bird builder punch. A large pearl was added to the center of the flowers.
Here is the Art Piece:
The Oval was Whisper White card stock stamped with Vera Mark and then embossed with Black Embossing powder. The center of the stamp has a tea theme so I used my Stampin marker and proceeded to color my image with the ink to rubber technique to color that part of the stamp. I then used a happy birthday sentiment in the blank space. After all the stamping, I hand cut the center image out and placed it on the embossed image with dimentionals. I cut out two ovals from the oval framelits in pink pirouette and rose red. Embellishments: Pink Pirouette flowers, sponged with rose red. Old Olive leaves punched with the bird builder punch. A large pearl was added to the center of the flowers. I added the rose red crochet ribbon from the artisan kit in the new spring catalog.
The Mini Coffee Cup:
I ordered the coffee cups from a Restaurant Supply house called www.webstaurantstore.com; it was the 4oz coffee cup and matching lid. I used a template to cover the cup from Deb Valder at stampladee@aol.com. Please visit her site for the template for the coffee cup.
Here is the recipe:
Cup Cover: Back to Black DSP
Banner: 1.5 x 3-1/4 stamped with Something Lacy with Memento black ink
Sentiment: Stampin Up, Remembering Your Birthday stamped in Memento black ink and punched with the Decorative label punch.
I added some pink pirouette flowers that I sponged in rose red with a large pearl for the center. Old Olive leaves punched with the bird builder punch added for foliage to the decorations. Again adding some rose red crochet ribbon finished off the cup.

These are so pretty Kristi! I love the lacy background and the colors that you used are perfect! Thanks for sharing!!
I so love your beautiful card and coffee cups. I love the background stamp and the color of the ribbon with the black and white. Its stunning! I am also anxious to try the new vellum sheer DSP that’s coming out for SAB!
That lacy bg stamp is simply gorgeous and you’ve kicked it up a notch by stamping in the black ink! So formal looking…just beautiful! Although purples are my favorite color, when it comes to cards I tend to lean toward the blues as in coastal cabana, tempting turquoise, Bermuda bay, etc. They just make me happy!
Love the color combo you’ve used here, Kristi! The pops of reds and pinks against the black is just lovely! For my color faves – I feel most comfortable in the quieter neutrals and greens! But, I love yours here – and may very well branch out and try them myself!
Wow, what a beautiful card. I actually said “Wow!” out loud when I first saw it! I have to make one of those. My favorite color combinations are brown/pink/cream, like in shabby chic cards. I also like to use teal and black. Thanks for the chance to win some blog candy! Keep making those beautiful cards!
Wowzers; a true work of art indeed. Just a stunning card. The colors are so FABULOUS together! Awesome use and bow of the lace from the Artisan Kit. Just LOVE the Something Lacy Stamp as your background. So very nicely done! TFS
Thank you for an awesome blog hop. A lot of great talent you ladies have and so glad that you share it with us!!!
Beautiful projects. These definitely have the WOW factor down. My go to color favorite right now is browns and pinks next week it might change.
I love the blue and orange combinations… New for me, as I have always been a pink and green girl. Beautiful crafts… Thanks for sharing your talent with us!
Seems we always use melon mambo–love it with black & white as well as tempting turquois. Add some rhinestones for bling & you have a great card! Thanks for the chance to win some!!
I like many color combos in the brights as well as the 13-15 in colors. I have to use dimensionals & rhinestones on every card so your candy is made for me!!! Hope I win!
This card is so pretty! I have come back to your sight three times today just to look again. I now know the Something Lacey stamp is a must-have. I’m not sure I have a favorite color combo as there are so many options to choose from.
I just love that cute coffee mug! Adorable!
My favorite color combo right now is Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana. Thank you sharing your beautiful card and recipe with us, and, for the opportunity to win some great blog candy.
Kristi – love your use of Pink Pirouette and Rose Red together. Great accent to the Something Lacy patter. Especially like the Rose Red Crochet Ribbon
Forgot to mention my favorite color combination – Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.
What an elegant card. Colors were used in my grandsons wedding. 🙂
Any one that knows me, knows my colors are all about tropical and coastal colors. Stampin Up certainly has what I need and love.
Wow! I just love these projects. The color combo is gorgeous and the little coffee cup is so cute.
Wow, Kristi these projects are totally over the top beautiful, so elegant with the beautiful lace background and I LOVE it stamped in the black. That little coffee cup is da bomb girlfriend, LOL….so sweet.
Oh, so lovely. Like the coffee cup, but the card is elegant. Thanks and enjoy your week-end.
