Alternate Monday Stampi’ Up! Prized Peony

Hi Stampers, It’s Alternate Monday day.  That means I am sharing a card taken from the blog hop that I participate in each Thursday. I am taking either the sketch or color challenge and making a second card that is close to or similar to the posted card from the hop.  I want to inspire you to get different looks for your card by mixing it up a bit by color and design.  Today I used the same layout, with a twist and changed the colors to give the card an “Alternate” look.

Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony:

The recipe:

Card base: Whisper White 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2

Mat: Peony Garden DSP 4-1/4 x 5-1/2

Small mat: Magenta Madness 3-3/8 x 4-5/8

Art piece: Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Embossed with the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder

Sentiment: Whisper White die cut with the Tasteful Labels Dies

The details:

  • Stamp the flower image from the Prized Peony stamp set
  • Color in the image as follows”
  • Flower: Magenta Madness Stampin Blends
  • Leaves: Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends
  • After you color in your image, die cut the image out using the Peony Die

Putting the card together:

  • Adhere your Peony Garden DSP mat to the front of the card
  • Adhere your Whisper White embossed art piece to the small Magenta Madness mat
  • Wrap a piece of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around this panel
  • Adhere this piece to the right side of the front of the card with Dimensionals
  • Adhere your die cut peony to the front of the art piece with Dimensionals
  • Stamp your sentiment using the image from the Peaceful Moments stamp set with Black Tuxedo Memento Ink
  • Adhere your sentiment to the bottom right side of the card with double stacked Dimensionals

Finishing touches:

  • Add a Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon to the left side of the sentiment
  • Add a few Magenta Madness In-Color Enamel Dot to the sentiment piece and you are done
